Who You Are & What You Can Do

When God created you, He intended that you should share His divine nature. Yes! It is not heresy. This is the fact, and I can prove it to you with every authority. The Psalmist wrote,
“I said, “You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High.” – Psalm 82:6
Who said? It is not the psalmist that said, but God. The first verse confirmed this,
“God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods. – Psalm 82:1”
It was God talking and not David the writer of Psalms. You must understand this. Many Christians cannot grasp this truth. It is still God’s intention today that you share in His divine nature. This is the only way you can know your source and understand your full potential.
This is why you need to establish a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. By this, I mean you need to be a Christian. Why? If you are a Christian, you naturally operate in the class of God. Oh even Jesus testified to this reality.
“Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, I said, “You are gods”? “If He called them gods to whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken). – John 10:34 – 35
Let me expose something to you a bit. Do you know that the Hebrew word translated to “gods” in where we read in Psalm 82 verse 6 is actually “Elohim”? And do you know what that means? It literally means, “mighty ones or gods”. This is the same Hebrew word that was translated to “God” in Genesis chapter 1 verse 1, “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.” Here, it is in capital letter. I am certainly deviating. This is beyond the scope of this nugget.
Yes! What I am saying in essence is this; you operate in the very class of God when you are born again. Why? A product always has the nature of its source. To this end, your natural mode of operation as a child of God is the same as God’s, because you came out of Him. This is why, my great mentor, Dr Myles Munroe said,
“When we reconnect with God, we naturally have the power to be all that He is”
This is not an under-statement please. It is a statement of fact. You are gods. Jesus said, “The scripture cannot be broken.” God expects you therefore to act and think like He does because He is your source and you are His child.
Before we draw this nugget to a close, I like you to also know what you can do. Friends, since you are from God, it therefore indicates that for you to know what you can do, you need to find out what God can do. Oh! I am so excited. Did you just read that? Find out what God can do. This is how you will know what you are capable of doing.
God made the heaven and the earth by His spoken word. You also got that creative ability. God took you out of Himself; He automatically gave you the ability to be creative and productive. So put your creative potential to work.
Yes! What I am saying is, “Imagine anything you want and there is nothing you imagine that is not possible. Everything is possible with God. So, there is no impossibility before Him. A singer said and I believe him, “God is impossibilities specialist”. Just dare imagine the impossible; this is what He wants to do. In fact, it is what the world has not yet seen that God wants to do. I mean the ideas and stuffs that the world has not seen yet are what God is challenging you to ask of Him.
Your potential is related to God’s potential. Ah! You share God’s potential to plan, design and to bring dreams into reality. Therefore, permit me to say,
“The quality of your abilities is defined by God’s abilities. – Dr Myles Munroe
God is omnipotent. He has built in you the potential you need to do what you can do. So He will never demand more than you can do or more than He has already built in you. I leave the principle with you. What you can do is related to where you came from. And you are from God. You will never fail.
